When can I check in and out?
Check in from 5pm in the summer (1st April-31st October).
Check in from 3pm in the winter (1st November-31st March).
Check out by 9am in the summer (1st April-31st October).
Check out by 10am in the winter (1st November-31st March).
Please get in touch when booking if you have specific check in and out requirements as we may be able to accommodate them.
Are pets welcome?
We are happy to welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs per property.
Please note that there is an additional pet fee for this applied when you book.
From 2027 we will no longer able to accommodate dogs at Forglen Lodge.
Can I visit Forglen House?
Forglen House is a private residence, and both the house and its gardens — including the immediate parkland around it — are not open to visitors or accessible under the right to roam. We kindly ask that you respect the privacy of the residents and follow the signage around the Estate.
If you’d like to admire the house from a distance, there are some lovely viewpoints along the riverside walk.
For guests keen to see more of Forglen’s architecture up close, we recommend booking a stay at Forglen Lodge, or enjoying a stroll past the Mausoleum, which is a beautiful feature of the Estate.
Forglen Estate also appears in the TV series Churchill’s Secret Agents: The New Recruits. Episodes 4 and 5 were filmed here and at Forglen House, and they’re usually available on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations will be free up to 28 days before the check in date.
Should a cancellation occurs with less than 28 days notice and up to 7 days prior to check in date, we reserve the right to retain the booking deposit. However, we will endeavour to arrange a suitable alternative with you.
Should cancellation occur within 7 days prior to the check in date we will offer a partial refund of 50% of the booking cost.
*Late/Last minute bookings (booked 28 days or less prior to the check in date) can be cancelled without charge up to 7 days before the check in date.
Are you licensed for short term accommodation?
Yes, we are licensed with Aberdeenshire Council and licensing information is available on the property descriptions.
What payment methods so you accept?
We accept VISA, Mastercard and Maestro.
Upon confirmation of your booking you will be asked to pay 20% deposit by card.
The balance will be payable 28 days prior to arrival.
For any bookings made within 28 days or less prior to check in date the full amount will be payable upon booking.
